Now firmly established and loving life in Lisbon, transformational tech startup OurNet is looking to build a foundational development team to realise its world-changing intentions.
OurNet’s advance party to Portugal, Founder Michael Brodie and ‘Town Crier’ community builder Carl Munson, have made the national and technological capital home and are now seeking colleagues to make manifest their ‘virtual village’ – an online community empowerment tool.
“Our intention is nothing less than to make a monumental difference to how people relate to each other on the Web, ultimately creating a world that works, for everyone,” says Brodie, 69, whose career path through community architecture and transformational consultancy has brought him to this point, where many men of his age would be well and truly retired.
“My experience in personal, organisational and narrative transformation tells me that big change and great results require a change of context, not a bunch of old ideas re-mixed. This platform will be a contextual shift for social, and anti-social, media that will bring the kind of societal change that is so desperately desired by so many,” adds OurNet’s founding influence.
“We’ve relocated specifically to Lisbon so we can draw on the city’s growing reputation and supportive culture for innovation and technological talent,” says OurNet’s Carl Munson. “We are starting the process of attracting a small group of platform developer/programmers as well as a further two individuals who can help shape our graphical interface and user experience.”
“Whilst much of the social media-sphere has taken a commercial turn, turning contributors into commodities, and as the Internet’s decentralised nature is being claimed and carved up by the biggest players, I believe these most remarkable inventions have the potential to transform the world as we know it into the world most sane-minded and peace-loving individuals long for,” Munson continues.
This looks like a big year for the Web, for OurNet, and for the first talented few who join the team and share this transformational tool with the world.
